That was unexpected
To do this without even having a contingency plan ready to go is beyond stupid. I've never been a fan of the way they've used FCW as a developmental area and the result of their complacency has led to a raft of not-ready talent coming up to television, but to now have nothing whatsoever for the time being is a serious concern.
But...but...Kassuis Ohno, Xavier Woods, Antonio Cesare...what the hell WWE?!
EDIT: NO MORE REGAL COMMENTARY!?!
TNA will buy it in 90 days.
There's always NXT.
Imagin the matches... oh wait.
See you say that but, oh wait. Well here's what I would do, I was going to say if TNA had any sense
They have a deal with OVW, they should arrange something with FCW, they also have a deal with AAA. They should really be investing an all out promotions war.
I think the problem with FCW is that its actually owned by WWE not just run through a deal like OVW so i dont think TNA could make i deal even if they wanted to.
Wow. I did not expect this news in the least. It kind of sucks for the developmental talent as they really have to make a major relocation from Tampa to Stamford (which they have to pay for themselves if I'm not mistaken) on very short notice.
From what I've read, this decision came from Triple H, who is looking to make improvements to WWE's developmental division.
I'm thinking that there is something more to this story since the announcement was so abrupt and out of the blue.
From LordsofPain who have taken it from PWInsider. Two very different stories being told here...
Not entirely shocked, after they did the same thing with the Jim Cornette-run original OVW and the Les Thatcher-run HWA years ago. OVW and HWA produced essentially an entire generation of stars from John Cena to Brock Lesnar to Shelton Benjamin to many others. Once again, WWE makes a wrong move, although this is the same company that doesn't mind losing upwards of $1,000,000 on every film they make...
Is Trips maybe trying to find out who the leak is with some mis-information being fed?
If it is to be true then WWE are making a massive mistake
I dont get what all the fuss is about, if they do close FCW, they'll just open up another developmental territory elsewhere. Whether its in Florida or Chicago, it wont make a difference.
It will if decent guys who could have a future can't afford to relocate to the new school.
All seems by-the-by now though, if anything it looks like there's going to be more developmental territories popping up, which is a great thing.
I expect that WWE has purchased another promotion somewhere that will either compliment or take over from FCW.
I think they hired Taz and re-opened the House of Hardcore
Separate names with a comma.
