For the people who work online in whatever capacity: If you could increase your workload/pay by upgrading or getting a brand new system, would you? Even if you do not have the work secured yet?

It would depend on how likely it would be for me to get the work and how much the system costs. That being said, I've been toying with the idea of creating a business license so that I could write off things like that as work expenses.

I think investing is always a good idea. You have to consider the ROI of the system. If this work is the only thing you will be needing the system for and it is relatively expensive, I would maybe wait. If you can use the system to improve more than just that one thing it could be a wise investment.
