When Fans Attack...

I would like to share this video that I watched the other day. I find it funny that there are some fans who are so attached to the show that they will physically attack the wrestlers. Don't these fans know that all the actions done in the ring were scripted?

I always figured that some of the fan attacks were part of the show as well. Just something to crank up the audience a bit. Otherwise, their insurance would go through the roof. Now I wonder.

There are real instances where fans want to get involved. In the 70's and 80's and earlier, wrestling was so protected that people did react like it was real.

These days, people who try to jump the rails and get in the ring are doing it because they want their 15 minutes of fame.

they want their 15 minutes of fame.
Absolutely true. What I like in the WWE is that when fans attack, then the wrestlers in the ring will become allies against the fan. We can verbally abuse the wrestlers all we want, but we should never hit them physically.

Chris Jericho has been on record numerous times saying that you can cheer, boo, chant whatever you want when you buy a ticket, bring whatever sign, that's all good. But the moment you cross that barricade, you're getting punched in the mouth

I would say that Y2J is good at acting as a villain that fans become very serious about his antics. I saw a video where he was attacked by fans even in the car park. I'm not sure if that was real or a part of the show.
