TNA Presents "Bound For Glory" LIVE on PPV
18th October 2009

On Sunday 18th October, Total Nonstop Action Wrestling presents it's biggest Pay-Per-View of the year, the three hour LIVE "Bound Glory" epic event. The Pay-Per-View will take place from The the UCI Bren Events Center in Irvine, California.

"Bound For Glory" will air in The UK on Wednesday 21st October at 9pm exclusively on Bravo 2.

The fifth installment of the Bound for Glory chronology was first announced in late 2008, when TNA released their PPV event schedule for February to October 2009. The location for Bound for Glory was first announced as California during a promotional video package which aired during TNA's Slammiversary PPV event on Sunday 21st June. Later that evening, TNA issued their first official public written statement about the event via a press release, confirming that Bound for Glory would indeed be held at the Bren Events Center located on the University of California at Irvine campus in Irvine, California.

Tickets for the event went on sale Saturday 1st August. On Sunday 23rd August, TNA published an article on their official site giving a first look at The Bound For Glory 2009 Promotional Poster, which featured Sting, an updated Bound for Glory logo, advertising for the event, and the tagline "The Final Curtain?".

Also in August, the official site for the fifth series of Bound For Glory was opened at BoundforGlory5.com. The track "Crawl Back In" by the rock band Dead by Sunrise is the official theme song of the event on the site.

All of your favourite TNA Wrestling superstars will appear at the event, including AJ Styles, Kurt Angle, Sting, Mick Foley, Samoa Joe, Eric Young, Christopher Daniels, Beer Money, Suicide, the lovely TNA Knockouts and so many more!

Tune into TNA iMPACT every Saturday night at 9pm on Bravo for more news on the "Bound For Glory" Pay-Per-View!

Was it always the plan for Styles-Sting to be for the belt?
I can't help thinking that Angle's recent, er, coffee trip may have played a part in taking the strap off him.

It's looking good so far though, the ME should be very good, Angle could do Morgan a big favour and Foley-Abyss (Monster's Ball?) will be typically violent fun. Hopefully all three younger men will get the rub but, knowing TNA, I won't hold my breath.

With rumours saying this may not be Sting's last match, if he wins the main event for a fourth year in a row I'll eat dirt.

1 Matt Morgan vs. Kurt Angle Singles match
2 A.J. Styles (c) vs. Sting Singles match for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship
3 Samoa Joe vs. Bobby Lashley Submission match
4 Mick Foley vs. Abyss Monster's Ball match
5 Suicide vs. D'Angelo Dinero vs. Daniels vs. Homicide Ultimate X match for a future TNA X Division Championship match
6 Sarita and Taylor Wilde (c) vs. The Beautiful People (Madison Rayne and Velvet Sky) Tag Team match for the TNA Knockout Tag Team Championship
I am really liking the card so far AJ/Sting should be great, Morgan/Angle ditto and Joe/Lashley will be great. And for nearly a year we have been waiting for foley and abyss and they book it in a match to there strengths and ultimate X on paper this event will be the best of the year (as you might expect)

Why is Joe-Lashley not for the X title?
Assuming that Lashley is winning, he could be the one to really give the belt the credibility that it's lost over the past couple of years.
Regardless of his skills as a wrestler, Lashley has the media exposure, casual fan recognition and booking behind him to really make the strap mean something again. Then, when it's time for him to lose it (to a smaller wrestler, probably) the new champion will look better because he's beaten the guy. It's an opportunity to maintain Bobby's push, whilst laying the groundwork to create a future star.
Joe and the belt do nothing for each other.

-Dr. Stevie will be the guest referee for the Abyss vs. Mick Foley Monster’s Ball match at Bound For Glory. A stipulation has also been added. If Abyss uses thumbtacks, he loses the match.

-There will be a TNA & IWGP Tag Titles Ladder Match at Bound For Glory featuring Scott Steiner & Booker T vs. The British Invasion vs. Beer Money vs. Team 3D. Both titles will be hung so both sets of titles can be won.

The four-way for the tag titles sounds interesting, but Abyss being DQ'd for using thumbtacks in a weapons-infested hardcore match, a bout that includes Mick Foley, another wrestler known for his use of the pointy metal tacks, seems an odd decision.

who added the spit was it foley? if so he is trying to use his power to give him an unfair advantage, Abyss will just use barewire or glass, maybe the tacs are getting old

Who was spitting?

EDIT - Just realised you meant stip. I was wondering if Foley had spat on Abyss during one of the tapings.

On the subject of typos, barewire sounds pornographic.

ok this looks like the final card

TNA World title
Sting Vs AJ (C)

No bones about this, this will be a great match up Sting always ups his game for BFG, I have a feeling thou AJ will break Stings winning run finally putting over the next generation of TNA. Sting's match will Joe last year was great and so will this be.

Angle vs Morgan

Angle rarely has a made match and especially at this stage, Morgan is on a roll lately and getting a decent push. TNA seems to be pushing the boat out with home grown talent this year. I think this will be a good match, Angle will win.

Lashely vs Joe sumissions match

The gimmick saves this for me lashley is for the most part is crap and Joe is not firing on all guns these days, but maybe the big event feel will make them up there games - Joe will win

Full metal mayhem - Team 3D vs Beer Money vs Booker/Stiener vs The British Invasion.

TNA by miles has the best tag team division in the US today, it has been booked and built greatly (wwe take note) this will another great match in my opinion with a nice gimmick i can see Team 3D winning and getting back the IWGP title and the TNA titles.

Abyss vs Foley

This is the hardcore match we have been awating for and should be extremely good and could be foley's best outing as it is playing to his strengths

Legends Title Nash vs hernandes vs young

Another great choice give the younger guys a shot at what is bascially there mid card title (as i knew it would be) it started of as a made up title (heck the IC title was won in a fictionous tourement in brazil i believe so it doesn't matter how it started) I think Nash will drop the title to young

Knock out title match ODB vs Tara vs Kong

This match could do with the absence of ODB Kong vs Tara at BFG would rule so i hope that ODB does little and lets the other two go at it, this has a lot of potental to be very good i like Kong is getting the title back thou

Knockout Tag team titles - Serita/Wilde vs TBP

This could be a good match but i am not a great fan of TBP in ring ability Love was the best on out of them but she is gone

Ultimate X The Pope v Suicide vs Daniels vs Red vs Homicide

This will be awesome and this is what the X division does best it will be a great match which i like Daniels will win

BFG look great on paper and could be the best TNA PPV of the year and potential rank up there of all wrestling ppvs this year but we would have to wait and see, TNA is on a roll in terms of quality so fingers cross this will be grand

TNA at their most useless...

For reasons that I'm not clear of, both Time Warner and Comcast have been running ads today for the November 15th Turning Point PPV.

The ad states "Last month A.J. Styles cemented his legacy whe he defeated the icon Sting," and then hints at some sort of betrayal.

It is possible TNA could change the finish of the main event, but unlike WWE, TNA's storylines and direction are done months in advance and it would require throwing all out main event plans going forward several months.

The 4 way tag match, it says both the TNA and IWPG titles will be hanging, so does that mean there has to be one team who will be the dominant winner or can two seperate teams get the different tag belts?
