There has been a lot of talk about the clash on Saturday between the two shows. BBC has 'The Voice' whereas ITV have decided to bring forward the airdate for Britain’s Got Talent. Both shows have changed their launch time a few times since this was all announced. As it stands the clash will only be 20 mins, The Voice starts at 7pm (until 8.20pm) whereas Britain’s Got Talent airs from 8pm.

    What will you be watching?

Just going on a slightly off-topic rant here.

The result of all these shows are the same after every series, the guy or lass disappears into obscurity...but you already know that.
I don't bother with these shows, which means I don't don't bother with TV any more. The last time I looked at the TV listings over here, The Voice of Germany, X-Factor, Germany's version of Pop Idol and a show to determine who's going to the Eurovision song contest were all on at the same time.
And once they're all finished another batch of casting shows are on TV like Got Talent, Next Top Model and so on...Are TV programmes just showing Casting Shows all year long? That's just f**ked up.

No? Not even after a year or so? I mean of course you've got your Will Young's, Leona Lewis', Susan Boyle's etc. Then again I can't really talk about it in the UK but I guess a British or an American born singer/artist would get more recognition worldwide, than a non-English speaking singer.

    X factor winners:

Steve Brookstein, Shayne Ward, Leona Lewis, Leon Jackson, Alexandra Burke, Joe McElderry, Matt Cardle and Little Mix. Brookstein and Ward have pretty much vanished, McElderry and Jackson are recording new stuff now and the others are all pretty much household names.

    Pop Idol Winners:

Will Young and Michelle McManus. OK so only Will Young did well out of that. :p

    Popstars Winners:

Hearsay and Girls Aloud. The Hearsay girls went on to do well for themselves and Girls Aloud are massive.

    Britains Got Talent winners:

Paul Potts, George Sampson, Diversity, Spelbound, Jai McDowall.

All fo them are doing well in their chosen genres, be it singing or dancing. OK they arent all household names, but neither have they sank back into obscurity (well, maybe Potts and Sampson have over here).

I'll watch them both, with the first 20 minutes of Britains being Sky+'ed, meaning the ads can be skipped.

The Voice is great. Easily far superior to X Factor.

Watched both. The Voice was excellent, BGT was alright. The boy with the guitar on BGT was pretty awesome.

I think Paul Potts went to America. From blips on Youtube it seems he's doing pretty well for himself with his own tours and TV appearances and such.

I watched 20 mins of the voice and thought it was pretty rubbish. Remove all the gimmicks and it's still full of people who have voices that don't strike a chord with me. Same with the judges. I haven't watched BGT but I do quite like the one, the judgin panel has put me off this year though, I don't like any of them.

I thought The Voice was really good throughout, BGT was pretty average up until the amazing opera singer at the end.

Great voice, but he truly must feel like he's the definition of the "friend zone".

The Voice was OK... but tired of Tom Jones rambling stories and I swear, every word Jessie J says makes me cringe. Cannot STAND that woman :(

Has anyone been watching The Voice?

The live shows are a bit X Factor-esque, but the talent of the singers is high, so it makes up for it. Max Milner is probably my favourite, but the public seem to prefer Bo, so I can see her representing Team Danny in the final.

BGT has two things going for it.... Alesha and Amanda. Plus, the variety aspect made it more interesting than the Voice, which was basically Xfactor after the first few rounds with the spinning chairs and the dueling duets.

The Voice has been good. I like Max too Scotty. Bo is a one trick pony, her voice is a right pain in the arse.
