We had nearly 200 votes, the biggest ever by a long way, and here are the results after days of work:

WARNING - SMARKS MAY BE ANGERED BY THESE RESULTS

=========================
Worst Moment or Decision of 2006

Previous Winners:
**NEW AWARD**

1. Use of Eddie Guerrero's name in storylines - 70
2. Any Vince McMahon Kiss My Ass Segment - 24
3. Voodoo Kin Mafia declaring war on the WWE - 21

Eddie's name was brought up in several storylines this year, and his wife is now a full-time employee. This obviously annoyed a great deal of you as it ran out an easy winner.

=========================
Get off my TV Award

Previous Winners:
2003 - Triple H
2004 - Gene Snitsky
2005 - Jeff Jarrett

1. The Miz - 47
2. The Coach - 28
3. DX - 24

The Miz can shout Hoo-Rah! all he wants as he collects the award for the person the most people want rid of. Apparently that Boogeyman feud wasn't enough to sway people in his favour.

=========================
Worst PPV of 2006

Previous Winners:
2003 - Bad Blood
2004 - Great American Bash
2005 - Great American Bash

1. WWE Cyber Sunday - 62
2. WWE Great American Bash - 49
3. TNA Final Resolution - 26

The Bash finally ends its run of "success" as Cyber Sunday, the PPV that is impossible to build-up, takes the valued prize of Worst PPV. As many people pointed out in the Comments section, they would have voted for ECW's December to Dismember. However, my fortune-telling abilities weren't good enough to include a PPV that hadn't happened.

=========================
Worst Match of 2006

Previous Winners:
2002 - Jackie Gayda/Christopher Nowinski vs. Trish Stratus/Bradshaw
2003 - Vince McMahon vs. Stephanie McMahon
2004 - Tyson Tomko vs. Stevie Richards
2005 - Big Show vs. Akebono - WrestleMania 21

1. Booker T & Sharmell vs. Boogeyman - WrestleMania 22 - 46
2. Undertaker vs. Great Khali - Judgment Day - 43
3. Eric Young vs. Larry Zybysko - Bound for Glory - 23

He's the Boogeyman, and he's coming to get the award for worst match. To be fair, it should be remembered that Marty Wright actually wrestled this match with torn triceps in BOTH arms. The Chop of Doom match finished second, starting a bad trend for Khali...

=========================
Worst Wrestler of 2006

Previous Winners:
2002 - A-Train
2003 - Nathan Jones
2004 - Mordecai
2005 - John Cena

1. Great Khali - 55
2. The Miz - 28
3. John Cena - 21

Khali walks away as the worst wrestler of 2006, and looking at previous results, either the winner of this award gets fired, or becomes the WWE Champion. Tough choice isn't it...

=========================
Best Moment or Decision of 2006

Previous Winners:
**NEW AWARD**

1. DX Retuning - 60
2. Kurt Angle debuting in TNA - 29
3. Edge beating John Cena at New Year's Revolution - 26

The return of double entendres, the crotch chop and the always "entertaining" pre-match introduction spiel was popular enough for DX's return to be crowned the best moment of 2006, ahead of Angle's move to TNA and Edge ending Cena's WWE Title reign.

=========================
Best PPV of 2006

Previous Winners:
2003 - WrestleMania 19
2004 - WrestleMania XX
2005 - WrestleMania 21

1. WWE WrestleMania 22 - 95
2. ECW One Night Stand - 27
3. WWE Unforgiven - 20

A one-horse race all the way as WrestleMania continued it's incredible run as the Best PPV in these awards. Nothing even came close to it, and not even Triple H pretending to be Conan the Barbarian could sway the votes.

=========================
Best Announcer of 2006

Previous Winners:

2002 - Jim Ross
2004 - Jim Ross
2005 - Tazz

1. John Bradshaw Layfield - 60
2. Jim Ross - 50
3. Tazz - 21

JBL's unique style of over-the-top ranting has delighted wrestling fans of all ages since his move to commentary in July. Rumours suggest he is to give up commentary to be the new GM of SmackDown!, but the announce position on SmackDown! needs him to cover the shockingness of Michael Cole.

=========================
Best Diva of 2006

Previous Results:
2004 - Lita
2005 - Trish Stratus

1. Trish Stratus - 49
2. Mickie James - 40
3. Maria - 15

Trish retains her title as best diva in what will probably be the last time she enters the awards. From the rest of the results, it seems Mickie James may take her crown next year...

=========================
Best Feud of 2006

Previous Winners:
2005 - Randy Orton vs. The Undertaker

1. DX vs. The McMahons - 52
2. John Cena vs. Edge - 47
3. Samoa Joe vs. Kurt Angle - 18

We had cockerels, we had grafitti, we had cars without wheels, we had the Spirit Squad, we had random people come in and attack DX from different brands and most of all, we had DX squashing anyone, all the time. The match pay-offs between DX and the McMahons however were normally entertaining, so maybe that's why it won your feud of the year.

=========================
Best Newcomer of 2006

2005 - Ken Kennedy

1. CM Punk - 94
2. Umaga - 49
3. Homicide - 11

CM Punk won this award with an incredible amount of votes, the highest ever tally for an individual. Umaga also gained the most amount of votes for an individual runner-up. Nobody else even came close.

=========================
Best Cruiserweight of 2006

Previous Winners:
2002, 2003, 2004 - Rey Mysterio
2005 - Juventud

1. Gregory Helms - 48
2. Super Crazy - 20
3. Alex Shelley - 19

Gregory Helms has without doubt been the most dominant cruiserweight of the past year, as he approaches the anniversary of his Cruiserweight Title reign.

=========================
Best Tag Team of 2006

Previous Winners:
2002 - Kurt Angle and Chris Benoit
2003 - The World's Greatest Tag Team
2004 - William Regal and Eugene
2005 - MNM

1. L.A.X. - 46
2. London & Kendrick - 43
3. Kane & Big Show - 27

L.A.X. took home the first award for TNA after a great year for them, holding off the strong challenge of Paul London and Brian Kendrick.

=========================
Best Heel of 2006

Previous Winners:
2002 - Paul Heyman
2003 - Kane
2004 - Triple H
2005 - Kurt Angle

1. Edge - 55
2. King Booker - 17
3. Umaga - 15

Edge has without question been the de facto heel in the WWE this year, and has had a very successful year as both a wrestler and an entertaining heel. One would assume that Mark Henry would have taken this award had he not been injured.

=========================
Best Face of 2006

Previous Winners:
2002 - Rob Van Dam
2003 - Shawn Michaels
2004 - John Cena
2005 - Batista

1. John Cena - 30
2. Rey Mysterio - 21
3. Triple H - 18

A very close award throughout as no one wrestler was able to run away with the prize. But it eventually fell to the K-Fed slayer John Cena.

=========================
Best Match of 2006

Previous Winners:
2002 - Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels - SummerSlam
2003 - Chris Benoit vs. Kurt Angle - Royal Rumble
2004 - Chris Benoit vs. Shawn Michaels vs. Triple H - WrestleMania XX
2005 - Shawn Michaels vs. Kurt Angle - WrestleMania 21

1. The Undertaker vs. Kurt Angle - No Way Out - 29
2. Mick Foley vs. Edge - WrestleMania 22 - 28
3. John Cena vs. Triple H - WrestleMania 22 - 22

A very close contest saw the match between Taker and Angle just pip Foley vs. Edge to being Match of the Year. And again, I can only apologise for not forseeing two weeks into the future, that the Armageddon ladder match would be so good, thus not including it in this category.

=========================
Best Wrestler of 2006

Previous Winners:
2002 - Kurt Angle
2003 - Kurt Angle
2004 - Chris Benoit
2005 - Shawn Michaels

Oh dear...

This isn't going to be popular...

Don't shoot the messenger though...

1. JOHN CENA - 31
2. Samoa Joe - 27
3. Edge - 25

So, John Cena has been voted the best wrestler of 2006. No doubt this result will cause controversy, but the fans voted, and every person's vote counted no matter what. Maybe Joe deserved the award more, maybe he didn't. This one will stay in the record books though...

=========================
HALL OF FAME INDUCTEES 2005

The Undertaker
The Rock
Steve Austin
Bret Hart
Chris Benoit

Just missing out were:

Kurt Angle
John Cena
Kane
Sting
Rey Mysterio

Congratulations to those five individuals for their hall of fame induction. Unfortunately, people don't seem to be able to read rules and it ended up that Triple H and Shawn Michaels, despite already being inducted last year, had 21 and 18 votes respectively. There will be a change to the Hall of Fame voting process next year which may entail giving a selection of options as opposed to making it a free-for-all.

So there are your awards, discuss the results here if you wish to. See you next year for the 2007 awards.

Well done on running them again Chris...I can only imagine the amount of time it takes to compile! :thumbup2:

Some good results there, nothing I really disagree with, just ashame we didnt include the Dismember to Remember/Armageddon PPVs.

I started on December 23rd and finished them off this morning, although I didn't work on them on the 27th, 28th and 30th.

They will probably be included in the 2007 awards.

Cena....Best wrestler of 2006?.....DAMN RIGHT HE WAS!

Every winner was deserving of the award they won, although Mickie should of won over Trish.

I agree with most of that apart from a couple of things.

Cena winning best wrestler is one of them obviously.
But, I do think there should have been a 'Most Improved' award, and I would have voted for Cena on that.

Best wrestler AND best face? Thank you very much.

Yeah, Cena's only liked by little kids and women isn't he?

I agree with most of the awards, except I would have put the Great American Bash above Cyber Sunday in worst PPV and VKM in the 'Get off my TV' award.

The Bash had an amazing first hour, featuring the best tag match of the year (London/Kendrick vs. Kash/Noble), Finlay vs. Regal and Hardy vs. Helms. In comparison, Cyber Sunday had precisely no good matches. Definitely agree on VKM though.

Bar the DX and CM Punk wins, I agree with all of the results.

Great work, Chris :)

i disagree with Cena being best wrestler of the year because that's bullsh*t

he may have improved but he's not a touch on Samoa Joe, Am Drag or loads of other wrestlers

Being able to do the most moves has never been the criteria for best wrestler, otherwise Dean Malenko (or Jericho when he added four more moves) would win it every year. I don't think Cena was the best wrestler of last year, but he is a bigger draw than Danielson or Joe. To be fair to both of them, they are in smaller promotions with a much smaller international tv audience. I would say Cena gets the biggest reactions of any wrestler, positive and negative, and deserves some credit for that. There is not another wrestler alive today who could have a whole arena peform a duelling chant about himself. At WM22 he had a "Come on Cena" - "F*ck you Cena" chant in full swing. It added so much and elevated a good match to a great one.

As for the awards, maybe eligibility could be from Dec 1st to November 30th like the PS50, which means the December PPVs get a chance to be included.

If Am Drag could draw, I'd agree.

But he can't, so he isn't.

has he ever had the chance to draw on a stage bigger than ROH?

So one of the characteristics of being consider the best wrestler is if it's wrestler A is able to draw?

Well, yes. Basically. I dont know what else to say to that, but why wouldnt that be a factor in how good wrestler X is?

Go ask that question to Ole Anderson. I want his response recorded for my own amusement and for every future generation of wrestlers to listen to so they know exactly what the wrestling business is about.

EDIT: The answer is "yes".
