I saw this director's Okja on Netflix, which was a very decent modern science fiction / adventure mix, but this looks much more thrilling.

(I am so behind with new releases!)

Ooh, I want to see this! It's gotten loads of praise. I'm assuming from the trailer that there's a really nasty twist in the story.

Hoping to catch this over the weekend. It seems like plots about crossing social classes are quite popular in Korean dramas. Someone poor outsmarts rich executives who look down on him/her, but that person romances an executive's kid or even one of the executives...

I'm watching it later this week. Can't wait! It's one of those releases where audiences and critics are pretty close in (positive) agreement. Metacritic and IMDb posted high numbers, too.

Let me know what you think of it! I think I read about it somewhere and said that the movie is more like dark humor about societal issues. I'm not sure exactly what those are, but maybe that's something I should find out by watching. It's sad to think just how evil humans can be, though.

It's oh so dark and surprising. Definitely a society tale. I'm still processing what I saw, especially the final act. The cast is awesome and I thought the story moved fast even in its quieter moments. More thoughts to follow!

Glad to hear you liked it, @Boomer ! This might be way up there for me for the best of 2019. I recognized the actor who played Ki-Taek from another of the director's movies, but the other adults also look familiar.

One of the big questions I'm rolling around in my head is who's the bigger parasite, the struggling Kim family who really wants the wealthy lifestyle — or the very rich Park family, who use the poor's labor and doesn't notice what they go through?
