After the match, there is some brief tension between the two teams.

Josh and Michael talk about the trust issues for the pros and rookies.

It is time for a Titus O’Neil video package. He talks about how he had some problems as a kid and he went to the Youth Ranches in Florida and that probably kept him out of jail. He talks about how he doesn’t want his kids to follow the same route. Titus talks about how he was told that he might not graduate high school but he ended up going to the University of Florida and being part of their Hall of Fame. He talks about being able to coach kids because he wants to be able to inspire kids. He wants to be the best and he says that he is the next breakout star.

Michael Cole wants to talk about the assault on Vince McMahon from last night’s Raw and we will see the footage later and we will get an update.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Michael talks about how WWE is very important for his family. He says that he called his mother about his first win last week and they were both emotional and he will never forget about it.

We have a video package for Lucky Cannon. He talks about a few close calls he had. In 2004, he got a call from a friend and he went to help him out but he was hit in the back of the head with a lead pipe. He was in a coma for three weeks. He talks about having to learn how to walk and talk again. He says that he learned through his father that no matter how hard things are you don’t throw in the towel. He says that he was excited about being announced as a part of NXT. He says that he believes in luck, but that has nothing to do with him becoming the next break out star.

We go to commercial and we are told that when we come back, we will see what happened on Raw.

We are back and Michelle and Layla try to cheer up Kaval. They tell him that the third time is the charm. They want to know if Kaval is with them. They have a gift for Kaval and they tell him to close his eyes. They have a pink Property of LayCool shirt for him and Kaval says that he doesn’t know what to say. Kaval asks if he has to wear it. They tell Kaval to turn his frown upside down.

Matt Striker joins Cole and Mathews and we see footage from last week when Cody Rhodes became a hero for many after he attacked Matt Striker when Matt asked the wrong question. Matt says that he is going to chalk it up to Cody being put on the spot by Mark Henry and he says that it is all about the rookies.

We go to footage from last night when Vince McMahon was in the middle of a circle of NXThugs and the subsequent attack that looked a lot like the attack on John Cena but in a clean ring.

Michael Cole says that the McMahon’s have denied comment. Cole has an e-mail statement from the General Manager and he said that the actions will be met with the appropriate consequences.

Winner: Cody Rhodes

After the match, Rhodes points out that he won in less than five minutes.

We go to commercial.

We are back and it is time to hear from the rookies.

Matt Striker is back in the ring with the rookies and he reminds them that next week will be the first poll from the pros and WWE Universe.

The rookies have 45 seconds to plead their case.

Alex Riley is first and he says that after what he did so far, he won’t need the time. He wants to know if he looks familiar. He says that ten years ago, he was stuffing the nerds in lockers and stealing their money. Now he is getting paid to beat up losers on a show called WWE NXT.

Kaval is next and he is wearing his Property of LayCool shirt. Kaval smiles and he says ten years ago he tried to get in the door known as the WWE and they told him he was too small. Ten years have passed and he is standing in the ring on NXT. He will be the next breakout star and he will show it is not the size of the fighter . . . but he gets buzzed off.

Titus O’Neil says that has had to work like each and every one of y’all. He was a Hall of Famer at Florida and he is a college graduate. In the end, he will make it a win.

Michael McGillicutty says that he made it a win but why should he be the next breakout star. Unlike the rest, he possesses no weakness and he is undefeated.

Eli Cottonwood is next and he says that he is the next breakout star because he is willing to do what nobody else will do. He is patient. He will lie in the weeds and wait in the shadows and he will strike with vengeance. He says that his actions will speak louder than his words.

Percy Watson says that he likes to have a good time and he says that he is a heavy hitter and he isn’t a quitter. He says that he is getting better all the time.

Lucky Cannon says that his whole life he has been called Lucky and it is because he wakes up every morning. He is lucky because he gets to do what he loves to do. He is lucky because he lives in a country that allows him to do this. He says that he is WWE’s next breakout star.

Husky Harris is the last rookie. He says that he doesn’t need the time and he hits Matt Striker from behind and then hits a back senton on Striker.

We go to credits.

Miz+ Riley V MVP+Watson was a good match. I thought Riley looked a lot better this week than last week and Watson look really really good. Nows how to work the crowd and like the spinning body splash. Finish of the match was a bit odd as I'd assumed the Miz had done something to Watson with the ref distracted by Riley and MVP but we didn't see it.

Titus O'neil is f*cking boring. First to go I think. Couldn't generate heat with a gas can and a lighter.

Oneil V Hennig (refuse to call him that ridiculous name). You can visibly see O'neil thinking about what he's going to do next. Hennig looks good in everything he does and lucky he didn't get snapped in half by O'neil's botch. Love Hennig's finisher, like the rKO it comes from nowhere.

Kaval V The White Khali.
Cottonwood will probably be kept in for a while yet given his size and the love for that in WWE. It's can;t be that hard to play the big monster in the ring really but old Eli does struggle at times to link together his moves into a coherent attack.. If Mysertio can be a world champ then Kaval can easily, he's much more enjoyable to watch in the ring and I think could get over with the typical WWE crowd because he in ring work looks so good. If kids like power rangers then they'll like Kaval's kicking offence. Loved Kaval kicking Eli from the middle ropes to make up the size difference and then the curb stomp to the standing man. Cottonwoods finisher is shite and sloppily performed.

Rhodes V Cannon was pointless. Surely Cannon needs to take Rhodes closer to 5 minutes

Closing arguments:
Riley very good promo. Kaval was good as well. O'neil was better than he has been. Hennig was good but I can't work out whether he's being pushed as heel or face. Cottonwood was awful, please shut him up. Watson cheers me up on the mic. Cannon was bland and the cheap pops failed miserably. Good thing with Harris at the end, I think he could do well as a heel or face and think he and rhodes is a good pairing.

A much better show than the week before I think, despite the ending of the tag match and Kaval V Cottonwood being a bit rubbish. Most of the rookies came off really well in ring and most were at least ok on the mic. Only two guys really stick out as having nothing to offer bar their look but should be intersting to see what the WWE universe think of them.

I hope Matt Striker gets beaten up every week from now on :D

Edit: Oh and the new ring announcer is awful.

It looks like Kaval is getting the "Bryan Danielson - Indy Superstar" treatment on NXT.

If by that you mean losing a lot, then yeah.

Still this was probably the best NXT episode in at least a while. Before it I couldnt care less about any of these guys. I wasnt even all that bothered to watch the tape of the show, but I did, and by the end I'd thought "Aww, Titus", "Aww, Lucky", "LOL, Percy Watson", "Hey, Alex Riley" and "Hey, Husky Harris". Not sure if I'm making sense, but they did more in one show to build most of the guys than probably any other one show.

Plus that first tag match was just everything an NXT match should be. Everything.

The Lucky/Cody match was moronic though.
