So the window opened today and so far the only moves of note in the Premier League has seen Norwich sign Matt Jarvis from West Ham, on a deal already agreed in December and Bournemouth signing Juan Iturbe from Roma on loan until the end of the season....

So who do you think is going to be on the move this window? Who needs what to strengthen their squads and do you think they can get it OR do you this might well be a quiet window given the expense spent during the Summer?

What it is going to be is how many players Arsene likes and how many he will actually sign which will be zero btw. Could be funny though the names being linked to us.

The potential big one doing the rounds is isco to city which could be a really good bit of business

Not really though, they have Silva and De Bruyne already to play in attacking midfield as well as Sterling. What they need is another person to back up Aguero and a decent second string centre back to cover Kompany/replace Demechiels.

Leicester have agreed a fee with Birmingham for demarai gray. That could be a cracking deal for the talented midfielder.

Well he is only 19 or so and he won't walk into the Leicester side the way things are going for them at the moment so this way he keeps his momentum, keeps learning and keeps fit ready to slot into the Leicester squad next season, hopefully a more complete player.

Smart move really.

Word is Mane is going to be leaving Southampton due to Koeman falling out with him and dropping him due to a missed meeting. Gossip rags are saying though that Koeman wants £62m for him.... in what universe, even with transfer inflation and the extra money from TV rights these days, is Mane worth £62m? £20m maybe in the current climate but that's it.

United are said to be interested (again) anyhow, as well as looking to sign Robben (again) and also looking to place a £33m bid for Felipe Anderson from Lazio (again) and possibly a £10m bid for Bojan from Stoke who supposedly has a release clause for that amount.

Injury prone, overweight, lack of production, bit of a party boy, never really justified his reputation....

Really you'd be buying the white, cheaper Ballotelli.

Pato is not worth that at all. Go for griezmann if you have the pennies.

Benik Afobe looks set to join Bournemouth for 10 million. Has shown great goal scoring in 2 leagues below but can he show it here? Great pennies for wolves who need to strengthen in areas

Antione Griezman will cost £50m not a throwaway £10m on a punt buy. I wouldn't have though they'd have that money kicking about in January, and with all due respect, won't be leaving Atletico, who are top of La Liga, for a team who isn't guaranteed (or all that likely in my opinion) to be playing Champions League football next season.

Definitely a strange move. I mean, they are desperate for cover due to injuries and at least he's English, knows the league etc, but yeah, he hasn't be very good at all the last couple of years.

I heard yesterday that Liverpool are signing Joel Matip from Schalke on a bosman in the summer. If that goes ahead that is very nice business by Klopp. He would immediately become their best holding midfielder/centre back and to get him for free would be top stuff.

Real and Atletico need to their business now because they have been slapped with transfer bans until 2017. They, like Barca before, have been breaking rules in signing youth players and like Barca can buy players but can't register them so they can't actually play AFTER this window.

The rumour mill is churning and saying they want to get De Gea now, rather then going after him again in the summer as they supposedly where planning. They also want United according to some sources to sign Kroos to free up more funds so they can sign Cavani.

Liverpool are supposed to be joining the chase for Vardy, but only at the end of the season. Chelsea however are supposed to be looking at moves for Scott Dann and Riyad Mahrez in this window.

Oh and Southampton have snapped up Charlie Austin for £4m - not a bad option to have really and not a bad rotation of Pelle, Long, Mane and now Austin.

Austin is a perfect fit for Southampton and £4m is a relative bargain in the current market. He'll score goals wherever he goes.

Lolz - they should have bid for Remy like Leicester are, scores about the same number of goals and is £10m cheaper.

I know that £21m for a young, English player is the same as £10m was a few years ago but seriously, he has not been the same player as last season and why would you want to trade a club with about the same amount of chance of staying up, never mind winning a trophy as your current club.

I bet Spurs fans are glad they didn't get him during the summer and resisted the urge to go back in for him now.
