All this talk about Iran counter-striking this, revenge that, blood of Americans yadda yadda..........everyone should settle down. Iran is not going to strike America. It's never going to happen. Our military weapons would prevent any strike of any kind.

They want to do something, so they will try. But it will be small-scale attacks on single buildings in, more than likely, Israeli sections of towns.

What do you guys think?

I think you're right. The hyperbole is getting out of hand. There is the cyber threat though because they were able to take Turkey off the grid for about 12 hours months and months ago.

War is not the way to go guys. Killing the top general of a sovereign country, in a different jurisdiction's airspace, is provocative. Iran is promising to retaliate, and the US is warning against this, but as we all know, aggression never solves anything!

It's sabre rattling on their part. What the majority of that population may want does not necessarily jibe with what their military is capable of doing. If that were the case, Israel would have been dust a long time ago.

They're not going to do anything. The emotions will subside and they'll get over it.

I think it's foolish to believe America is un-assailable. It's true we have the biggest military budget of any country, we have highly advanced tech, and yet 9/11 still happened, as have numerous embassy strikes and attacks against our troops. While attacking America's mainland area is harder than attacking troops stationed overseas, it's still quite plausible.

That being said, Iran may not be ready to retaliate just yet. They have walked away from the uranium agreement, so they're back on their way to developing nuclear weapons it would seem. They've promised retaliation against us though. That could take many different forms, so who knows what'll happen.

I don't know if it'll lead to WW3 or not, that might be a bit over-dramatic. But it's a mess.

WW3 is a stretch, but a dirty bomb strike on US or UK military assets abroad seems plausible. A dirty bomb on either homeland or civilian assets however seems implausible, if only because Iran is probably wise enough to understand the consequences of such a thing. Specifically, we would turn their country into a irradiated glass wasteland. At least, I hope they are. Admittedly, this might be an overstatement, but not as much of one as we might think. Personally, I work with a couple of Iranian people, including one I would literally take a bullet for, so I really hope it doesn't escalate further. The vast majority of people everywhere are just that, people. Sure, they have their issues, but we all do. Let's not let a couple of dipshit idiots ruin the whole world for nothing (or, very little, at least).

Well, the whole discussion about strikes and counter-strikes just got me wondering about how we got here. We can only hope that this will not ruin the bonds of friendship that we have all nurtured over the years.

Agreed. I'm sure they have enough money just to pay someone(s) to perform a drone strike in America, (set the drone up) and pay the Chinese to carry it out from China.

They have walked away from the uranium agreement, so they're back on their way to developing nuclear weapons it would seem.
I think it's more that people like them just want the option of doing it. Trying and succeeding are two different animals in this case.

Implausible, but oh so easy with drones. That list, or one similar, was posted on social media earlier by a member of the Iranian government. This is how wars, or proxy wars rather, are fought nowadays. High tech sneakery.

Well said. We need to find a way to get regular folks into the top positions.
