.....I shall refrain from posting any opinions I may have on it, as it has left me conflicted in more ways than one.....

No wonder. Abdullah bleeds here, bleeds there, bleeds everywhere but like Billy Graham said in the video, there's probably a few others wrestling with Hepatitis C.

I remember Taker going bat shit crazy backstage after his Armageddon Hell in a Cell match with Randy Orton and hearing that Bob Orton had Hepatitis. If you remember, Bob Orton was bleeding.

The risk was always there and if the WWE had that in mind when they put a ban on blading as well as fitting into the PG wing, then good call.

I really feel sorry for Devon Nicholson, that one diagnosis after years of training has killed his dreams.

I am shocked that Abdullah is in the HOF anyway, however I think this news came out far too late for WWE to rescind the invitation to him.
Its bad for the guy who wanted the job there though, his career has been ruined, especially if it was Abby who did it to him unknowingly, can't he go to prison for something like that?

The chances of him blading him 'unknowingly' is pretty damned slim. To the point where I would be comfortable to call utter bollocks.

I think the US Government needs to ban all forms of intentional bleeding at wrestling events in the US.

Look you can get around it, if you test for disease and you it sparingly and take proper steps occasional blood isn't a big deal. That and if you make it entirely up to the parties involve they make the choice. if it's senseless like Bob Orton then no you're asking.

And f*** keep the government out of this.

I actually wholeheartedly agree with this. I'm not one for regulation but in this day and age nobody should be intentionally bleeding on each other. you can't do anything if somebody's busted hard way, like in boxing and MMA but you can stop them from opening themselves up. They should be doing mandatory testing in all sports just in case, but since the discovery of AIDS there is no reason for intentionally bleeding on people.

I honestly think that after a certain amount of time, it could be 10, 20, 50 years, however long it takes current wrestling fans to get over their disappointment at the lack of blood in matches, but at some point in the future, WWE ending blading is going to be seen as one of the smartest moves ever made in this business.

People in 50 years are going to be like "They used to CUT THEMSELVES OPEN?!"

Yeah, I was never really comfortable with blading, but then I grew up in South Africa where the AIDS infection rate is stupidly high and most sensible people are rightly terrified of catching it.

    Alright then, my opinions.....

Firstly, Devon Nicholson and Abdullah the Butcher wrestled each other countless times, and in the match I saw on YouTube a year or so ago, Abdullah smashes a real broken beer bottle onto Nicholsons head.....and your telling me that Nicholson wouldn't have noticed any blading that Abdullah was doing to him "unexpectedly"?

Secondly, if Adbullah is infected, then that means that 99% of independent wrestlers would be too, since he's wrestled just about everyone at least once.....okay, that may be an exaggeration, but it would be a huge percentage.

Thirdly, what about all the other people Nicholson wrestled? What about the fact that he spent years wrestling in Puerto Rico, he could have picked it up there.....or from just about anyone else he's wrestled in which he bled.

Fourthly, I always take anything that Honky Tonk Man and Billy Graham with a "grain of salt".....I wouldn't be suprised if Graham was lying in the video.

Fifthly, if Nicholson really was infected, then why did he continue to wrestle after his positive test result?

Straying onto the topic of blading for a minute, no, I don't think it should be stopped, but I do think that wrestlers should be tested. I know that the WWE includes such things in their wellness policy, so there shouldn't be any worries there, but they should test for these things in all promotions. I guess you could compare it to a porn star who has unprotected sex and has to be tested frequently.

I'm just gonna answer the stupidest one first. Because not every match he has requires him blading. Also, it's not like he's Ric Flair who blades/bleeds when he goes to the loo. I'm sure he's also notified all the promoters who book him so they know and the boys know not to do anything retarded enough to cause both men to bleed (Or in Devon's case, not to bleed at all just to be sure) to cause the potential spreading of diseases.

No the stupidest one was where he said if Abby was infected 99% of all wrestlers would be. First of all he hasn't wrestled anywhere near 99% of all wrestlers working right now that's a ridiculous number. Secondly he doesn't bleed every match so not every wrestler he wrestled would be infected, that's just asinine.

He did say "okay, that may be an exaggeration, but it would be a huge percentage.". Keep up Def! I know you have a 360 now, but that's just ridiculous!

Well let me put it another way - if I was a pro wrestler, I wouldn't feel safe knowing my opponent was a hepatitis carrier.

I didn't say "99% of wrestlers", I said 99% of wrestlers on the indy scene. Plus, I said that was exaggerated.

I was looking at it like this: Say the video is true, and Abdullah has got hepatitis. Then look at the long list of people on the indy scene that he's had bloody matches against, and the potential for spreading is there, as Abdullah could spread the disease to one of his opponents, then the wrestler he spread it to could blade in a match against someone else and spread it again, and so on.

So basically, the way I see it is there could be a potential chain-reaction of disease spreading, starting from one person and unknowingly getting re-spread and re-spread.
